About Katie the Dragon

Katie the Dragon was created by K. Carvey, in memory of her older sister Katie Hale, who passed away suddenly in 2013 at the age of only 37.

After Katie died, she had been wondering what to do as a suitable memorial to her sister, when she found out she was pregnant with her first child. She then decided that she should write a book. She could educate her child, while keeping her sister's memory alive.

And so, Katie the Dragon was born.

One book however, quickly turned into several books as Ms Carvey very much found herself enjoying writing and drawing, and her children thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

In the Autumn of 2017, Ms Carvey's Grandfather, Ronald, died after a long struggle with Dementia. She plans on writing a book series featuring 'Grandpa Ron', geared towards slightly older children. She aims to begin releasing the new series by the beginning of 2023.
